Rafia Fitness Shoot

When Rafia first called me to do her first fitness shoot I didn’t really know what to say to her because I had never really done a fitness shoot. I thought it would be a great challenge and so I said yes. We discussed what her purpose was and what she wanted to show as well what she wanted me to capture. I learned a lot about which light modifiers to use to get the best control. It was an amazing experience. In the end, this was my favourite shot from that first shoot.

Fast track 2 years later and Rafia gives me a call to schedule another fitness shoot. This time it was a personal shoot showing off her achievements in training, a little bit of commercial for her new training program and some personal stuff for her self. I have a massive amount of respect and admiration for how dedicated Rafia has been and how hard she worked to get her body to where it is. I was amazed at the preparation coming up to the day of the shoot involved more nutrition than weight lifting. Here are some of the shots from the shoot.

The images are NOT retouched just colour corrected and I think this is an important thing about showing your clients. When you show them stretch marks, blemishes and flaws, you’re showing them your vulnerabilities and where you’ve come from.

A huge thank you to Rafia for allowing me this opportunity and the patience when I’d ask her to flex for a minute to get the perfect shot. If you would like to train with Rafia and have her help you get fit you can find her on Instagram right here @rafk.fitness

    Destination Engagement Shoot

Minesh and Kalika are a long distance couple and it was one of the things that I could relate to with my relationship. It was even more relatable that Minesh was from Canada and Kalika was from England. I suggested that we do an engagement shoot in England to get something different and a few months later we were in England together. Here’s a quick Teaser of a couple of the images from a shoot we did at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham. This estate may look familiar to many of you as it was used as the backdrop for Wayne Manor in the Nolan Batman films.

    Wollaton Hall Engagement

The day we had scheduled was pouring rain but it gave us warmer tones outside and fewer people on the grounds so we could go around the estate without being interrupted. The greenhouse was absolutely beautiful. It’s filled with white metal poles and 8 foot rose bushes. I wanted to capture a romantic image in here contrasting Kalika’s red shoes and red dress with our whites and greens.

Many of our couples come to us and say “I want to do something you’ve never done before for our engagement shoot!” and when they say it, I want to say “That’s what I want to do for every shoot.” The thing is if you want to have something unique sometimes you have to look outside what’s 10 minutes from your house, leave your comfy surroundings and hop on a plane to find something that makes you say wow. Maybe you always dreamt of cuddling in front of the Eiffel tower or taking a gondola ride in the canals of Venice. Why not go for your engagement shoot? Proposal at Graydon Hall Manor

We got a call from Rishi if we could photograph his proposal to his girlfriend Rupi. He chose a beautiful spot in the city in Graydon Hall Manor. It is one of the few spots in the city with great architecture and a rustic feel to it. Rishi called some friends and family to help him set up and make it personal and perfect. After the proposal, we did a mini engagement shoot. Here are some of the images from his proposal at Graydon Hall Manor.

        Gorgeous Hacienda Sarria Wedding Pictures

Manoj and Adithi were walking along the sidewalk when a scruffy guy with a camera says “What’s up? How ya doin man?” Manoj shook my hand having no idea who I was but was friendly enough to just go with it. That was the moment I knew this gentle giant was a good match for me to photograph.

I had the great opportunity to photograph Manoj and Adithi for their Christian Wedding Ceremony at Hacienda Sarria in Kitchener. The bride and groom looked timeless and they had a venue to match. This has to be one of the most unique and amazing venues I’ve ever been to. Lots of different locations to photograph, tons of natural light and lovely tones every where. Everything was perfect! Decor was simple and elegant and went perfect with the Hacienda Sarria.

I absolutely love the images we created for them  from the bridal portraits to the images outside the venue. I hope you enjoy looking at them as well.
